The Adventures of Ella

Ella was found wandering the streets somewhere in Scotland and was taken to The Dogs Trust http://www.dogstrust.org.uk/

The home was full of other unwanted dogs so she was taken to Devon, where we found her on a very rainy August day. She was the only dog that didn't bark, she just stood there looking sad.

A week or so later she came home.

Thats one happy dog!

She was shy at first, but once she new she was safe we discovered a clever, friendly, happy dog. She's also very pretty, but I would say that wouldn't I !

Ella likes

Playing Football
Swimming
Chewing sticks

Playing with Mums dog, Bo

But her favourite thing is

sleeping

For 5 years its was Ella, me and my husband, until the kittens arrived!

But Ella soon got used to them, one big happy family!

Well, that pic was taken at least 2 years ago, the cats no longer hang out with Ella on the sofa. Daphne (tabby) tends to give Ella a wide berth, sometimes sneaking up for a sniff when shes asleep. Elsie, on the other hand, seems to think a dog is just as capable of feeding her as a human and often does the walking round your legs trying to trip you up thing that  cats do when they are hungry. Elsie is always hungry!

Sometimes you'll see Ella and Elsie have a bit of a play, Ella will lick Elsies face and they'll have a bit of a chase around, which is pretty cute, though maybe the dog is just seeing what the cat tastes like!

In the early hours of this morning, I was woken by the pitter patter of tiny pads, both cats came into the bedroom, one of them jumped up onto the windowsill to hide behind the curtain. Then I heard the dog walking about downstairs and the catflap slammed - we had a cat burglar!!! This has happened a lot in the past but alls been quiet for a while until now.  The cheeky thing steals any leftover catfood. I guess its not a crime the police can solve as there will be no fingerprints! :)

Well the only thing we can do is lock the catflap at night. Daphne wouldn't mind as she tends to sleep through the night....on our bed....taking up valuable leg space...but you just can't disturb her (why is this??? Cats in control!). Elsie likes to go for late night walks and is bound to try and wake me up if she can't get out. If only the dog would chase the rogue cat, but shes getting old and could do without the hassle. So I will have to remove any food and hope the buglar gives up.

Lets have some random pet pics....

So, back to that cheeky 'cat' burglar....he is now part of our family! To cut a longish story short, he had been sneaking in here for months, we found the owner and they agreed for us to take him on. He's lovely but very very greedy, say hi to Ronan

seems to have settled in nicely
